The Games
POINTS GAME
Reserved for Members Only. After 2 of our events, you'll receive your first Points Quota, and you'll then play in the Points Game. New players must play 2 Gaspar Invitationals to establish their own Points Quota. You are qualified as a member when you have played 2 events.
CLOSEST TO THE PINS
Members and New Players/Guests play. We have a Closest to the Pin contest on all par 3 holes on a course. This is usually on 4 holes, but can be less or more depending on the course. New players participate in the Closest to the Pins contest in their very first Gaspar Invitational.
SKINS GAME
Members and New Players/Guests play. We have 2 Flights for our Skins Game, with an A Flight and a B Flight, with separate pots for both. The pot in each Flight is split up evenly based on the number of Skins won. It takes a birdie or better to win a Skin. However, the winning score must not have any ties. For example, 3 players birdie hole #1, a par 4. No one wins a Skin because there are ties for the best score. On hole #2, a par 5, there are 2 players with birdie, and 1 player with an eagle. Because there is only one player with the best score on the hole, that player with the eagle wins a Skin. This could also happen on a difficult par 3 or par 4, although rare. Just remember, any ties for best score on a hole means no Skin is awarded.
SINK THE PUTT CONTEST
Reserved for Members Only. This is our only optional game, and can only be entered by an active Gaspar Golf member with an Official Quota. The cost is $1 in cash at the time of the contest, and only one player can win the pot. We will set up a difficult putt on the practice green, and each player who entered the contest will get ONE putt only. No practice putts allowed. If any one member who entered the Sink the Putt contest makes the putt, he or she wins half of the rolling pot. If two or more players sink the putt, we will have a putt-off, and all players who sank the putt will get 2 putts to make the putt again. If no one makes a putt during the putt-off, the pot rolls over. If 2 or more players make the putt in the putt-off, the pot will also roll over. The Sink the Putt pot always rolls over to the next month when no one wins.
