My old next door neighbor from the late 90s, Phillip Wilson, continues to amaze his younger playing partners with his consistent quality play in his 70s. He shot a 79 at Countryside Country Club to finish at +8 in the quota game, edging out Mario Faria by 1/2 point. His 1st win gives him the title of Jose Gaspar for the month, plus $214, and he grabbed a skin worth another $21 to take home $235 for the tourney.
Mario Faria, aka 007, or the Man of Mystery, shot an incredible 78 to finish in 2nd place, just a half point behind Phillip. His +7.5 finish nabbed Skallywag honors, along with $71 in prize money.
Third place went to "Bones" Rhodes, the world's greatest Lightning fan, who shot an even 100 to finish at +5.5. Her Deckhand title for the month comes with $24 in prize money.
Our Wench for the month, undone by strong drinks on the course, was Jared Keck, whose 87 put him at -9.5 in the quota game.
Medalist honors went to Jim "5-0" Regula, who shot an impressive 1-over par 73.
Ken "Scratch" Cabrera, aka the Statue, did the honors by placing the Pirate Chain around Phillip's neck after the win. Who will win in April on El Campeon?
