On a perfect March afternoon, southpaw swinger, Sean McNamee, put together a solid round of 78 to pull away at the end, winning his first ever Gaspar Invitational.  48 players came together at Lake Jovita to play the South Course, and we drove them a bit mad with 3 funky hole rules to keep the field on their collective toes.  On the very tough hole #1, we allowed everyone to throw the ball 1 time, with no penalty or stroke.  On hole #12, a great par 3 under normal circumstances, we shortened the tee up to 50 yards to a downhill pin toward the water.  Finally, on hole #17, players had to choose 1 club and their putter to play the entire hole, and they received 1 mulligan that could be used anywhere on the hole.  The South Course is not easy, and it showed.  Less than half the players beat their quotas, a few matched them exactly, but the largest number missed their quotas.

Sean seemed to have no problem, however, and his 78 proved to be one of the best scores of the day.  His quota was 21, and he ended up with 30.5 points, winning with a +9.5 finish.  He becomes our second lefty golfer to win the title of Jose Gaspar for the month, and took home $302 cash.

2nd place, along with the title of Skallywag for the month, went to Kentucky's own Troy "TJ" Jackson.  Troy shot 97, and bested his 11 quota by 6.5 points, ending up with 17.5 total points.  He took home $100 cash for his nice round.

3rd place went to Bob Swan, who shot an 88, winning the title of Deckhand and $33 cash.  He beat his 18 quota by +6, finishing with 24 points.

March's Wench is our resident golf instructor, Casey McDonald, who shot an 84, and missed his 34 quota by -9.5 points.

In the putting contest, another lefty, Jans Tamayo, sunk an 80' bending putt to take home about $50 in cash.
