With 2 rules changes, 72-year-old Phillip Wilson becomes our first ever back-to-back winner on Gaspar Golf's Pirate Golf Tour.  The Rules Committee voted to eliminate the 6-point quota penalty to winners, and moved players 70 and older up a set of tees.  Philly has taken advantage in his 2 tournaments this year, winning last month in March Madness at Countryside, and beating Eric Delgado by 1 point this month.  One of the straightest hitters in Gaspar Golf, if not the straightest, Phillip fired a 79 to tie Arun Chopra for the 2nd lowest round of the day, and his +3.5 was enough to win again.  He is the only player to earn Jose Gaspar honors in consecutive months, and he took home $245 for the win, and another $32 for a skin, and $27 for a CTP on the first par 3 hole, for a total of $304.

Second place went to Eric Delgado, whose 88 was enough to get him to +2.5 in the quota game to earn Skallywag honors and $81 in prize money.

We had 4 players tied for 3rd place, and the tie was broken on the #1 handicap hole, with a par by Dan Corson.  He had finished tied with +1.5 point along with Cindy McGrath, Helen Wu and Michael Serrano.  3rd place paid $27.

Our Wench for the month was recent winner, Bob Swan, who saw his score balloon to 105 for a -14 finish.

Medalist honors went to Mike Caporale, who shot an uncharacteristic round above par, finishing with a +2 74.

Other noteworthy tidbits include Jen Nichiporuk and Bill Kilichowski facing a masked robber on the course.  This bold burglar made off with Jen's bag, and only while chasing down the wiley, felonious raccoon, was the Angry Pole, Bill Kilichowski's, wallet found behind a tree, dropped by the raccoon while in fleeing the scene.

Next month we will hold our first-ever Pirate Major, as we award double points to competitors at Cabot Citrus Farms on The Roost course due to its higher price.  Next season, we will hold 4 Pirate Majors, and award points accordingly.  Sign up now for the Citrus Open II!
