Chris "Plum" Plummer, in only his 7th start on the Pirate Golf Tour of Gaspar Golf, won the inaugural Citrus Open at Cabot Citrus Farms, beating the "Big Pole" Bill Kilichowski in a scorecard playoff on the 1st handicap hole.  The 3rd hole on Karoo, formerly Pine Barrens, normally plays as a 224 yard par 3, but they had the tees moved up to help speed up play.  Kilichowski had not started his improbable run on the back 9, and made a double bogey on the hole.  Chris Plummer made bogey, and won the 9th Gaspar Invitational Tournament of our 5th Season.  Plummer won $648 for 1st place, along with the title of Jose Gaspar for the month.  He shot an 88 off his 14 quota for 22.5 points, and a +8.5 finish.

The Big Pole narrowly missed nabbing his 3rd Gaspar Golf title.  Kilichowski shot a career best 83 off his 19 quota for 27.5 points, and a matching +8.5 finish, taking home $216 in cash for 2nd place, and the title of Skallywag.

3rd place went to our 71-year-old phenom, Phillip "Philly" Wilson, who shot an 80 to finish +8, narrowly missing the playoff.  Philly took home $72 for 3rd place, along with the title of Deckhand.

Our Wench for the month was Victor Castro, who shot a respectable 86, but suffered due to his quota of 35 for a -11 finish.  We may need to break out the old Wench trophy to give to our Army veteran for the month.

Cabot Citrus Farms is not 100% finished, with the old Rolling Oaks course, now called the Roost, not being ready for play yet.  There is still a lot of construction going on up there, with $1.7 million and up villas being built around the course.  The greens on Saturday had been aerated 10-11 days earlier, which unfortunately led to poor putting conditions.  It'll take Cabot Citrus Farms a couple years to get to the point where everything has grown in, but expect big things out of the old World Woods.  Hopefully they will allow Gaspar Golf to run the Citrus Open every year, and not raise the prices to the point where we cannot continue the event annually.
