Bill "Big Pole" Kilichowski, usually an emotional wreck on the golf course, kept it all together as he shot the lowest round of his career to win the 2023 Pirate Invasion at Skyview Golf & Country Club.  When my group looked at the Live Leaderboard with Kilichowski at 71 shots and having 2 holes to play, we were incredulous.  Bill could actually shoot in the 70s, with a single round of 89 ever?  I remarked that it would be like me shooting in the mid-60s, which is absolutely impossible!  Unfortunately, Bill faltered slightly in the last 2 holes, with a double and triple bogey, but he still shot an 84, possibly the greatest performance in Gaspar Golf history, next to Mike Caporale's 64 a few years back.  Bill entered the event with a Quota of 16, with most of his tournaments being in the mid-90s.  On a beautiful day at Skyview, it all came together, with him beating his Quota by 10-1/2 points, earning the title of Jose Gaspar for the month.  He took home a healthy prize booty of $350 for the big win, along with jumping to a Quota of 22.  He also got a Closest-to-the-Pin for another $39, for a final tally of $389.

Right behind Kilichowski was the Kingpin, Tony Ambrose, who fired an 82 to beat his 17 Quota by 10 points.  Tony gets a nice 2nd place payday of $115, and is our Skallywag for February 2023.

We had a tie for 3rd place between Nick Swan and Jack Coffey, and Smilin' Jack came out on top in the scorecard playoff on the hardest handicapped hole on the course.  Steaming Hot Cup of Coffey is our Deckhand for the month, and earned $39 for 3rd place, plus another $40 for his B-Flight Skin.

Our Wench was Clayton "Quack" Quackenbush, who was only 3-1/2 points off his 21 Quota.  We actually had 32 of 56 players above their Quota, which is the opposite of our Tour's performance last month, when only 1 player beat their Quota to win.

Thanks to all players who wore pirate gear this month to receive a free mulligan.  Next month is March Madness at Citrus National, so look for some special crazy rules that will surely drive all the Pirates mad.
