Team Skulls, led by Pirate Captain John Allen, marauded to victory over Team Crossbones in the second annual team event at Lake Jovita on July 24-25.

Day 1 was almost a complete sweep, as the Skulls dominated to a 7-1 record in the modified alternate shot play.  The day was highlighted by the Skulls' ladies, Cindy McGrath and Anne Rhodes, defeating the tough team of Mike Caporale and Ric Yambura.

Day 2 was almost as ugly, as the Skulls pulled off a 10-6 record to charge to a 17-7 overall win, taking home the title for the next year.  Team Skulls' number 1 pick, Drew Bullocks, played flawless golf to beat the pro, Mike Caporale, in the premier singles match of the day.

In all, 9 of the 16 Skulls players won both of their matches over the weekend.  Captain Allen awarded co-MVP honors to Drew Bullocks and Tony Ambrose, but it was really a team victory, getting revenge for the Skulls ugly loss in 2020.

Next year, the Crossbones, led by Frank Perez & Mike Caporale will go up against the Skulls, led by John Allen & Tres Fenton.  We are considering the 2-day team event being played further away from home, making the tournament a stay-and-play for teams and spouses.
