It was a beatiful day for golf at Juliette Falls, one of the most visually stunning golf courses in Florida, and a true favorite of Gaspar Golf.  The course was in perfect shape, and the greens were rolling at tournament speed.  38 golf pirates drove north to play in the annual Pirate Memorial, as we remember 2 fallen pirates, Calvin Russell and Jimmy Nichols.  I also take time to remember my wife and best friend, Vanny Huynh-Fenton, who I lost at only 43 almost 3 years ago.

In the A flight, Jason "Dark Jaguar" Harmon and myself were tied at +3, and Jason won in a scorecard playoff on the first playoff hole with a birdie.  Jason shot an incredible 77 to finish with 32 points, winning $81, and grabbed a skin for another $19, for a total of $100 on the day.  El Presidente went out hot with 20 points on the front 9 after shooting a 2-under 34, but came home with an improbable 48 to shoot an 82.  All I needed was a bogey on #18 to win, but after cold topping my drive, and a punch out from under a tree into a bad side hill lie, I topped my 3rd shot to about 50 yards, pitched on and 2 putted for the tie.  The better man definitely won, with Jason playing a great round of golf.  I grabbed 2nd place after the playoff, and took home $27.  A near ace on hole #3 was the highlight of the day, making an easy 8" birdie to win a CTP for another $26, and a total of $53.  Our A flight Wench for the month was Peter Jordan, who won on a scorecard playoff for last place with Frank Perez, both finishing at -7.

Over in the B flight, it was a lady pirate show, with Christina "Hustler" Miller bringing it home with a 93, finishing at +1.5 in the quota game.  Due to the pot being larger with more players in the B flight, she won $122 for 1st place.  We had a 3-way tie for 2nd place, with Amy "Mouse" Fields coming out on top over Michael Hermann and Rick Rhodes.  All 3 were tied at +1, and Amy took 2nd on the first scorecard playoff hole to win $40.  Amy also grabbed a skin for another $19 to finish with $59 in prize money.  Our B flight Wench goes to the Big Pole Bill Kilichowski, who shot a C-note 100 to finish -9 in the quota game.
