We had a good sized field, with 28 players in the field at the private Bayou Club in Largo, Florida on November 9, 2019.  We had a new twist on our Points Game, with all 28 players being paired in a blind draw to compete for 1st Place Team honors.

The Bayou Club was a fantastic host to our Novembe 2019 Gaspar Invitational, and the golf course was in incredible shape.  The Tom Fazio designed course was tough for sure, made even tougher if you'd never played the course before.  There were a few daunting tee shots, and even though we played the white tees at 6223 yards on the card, the course played much longer.  It felt like a 6600-6800 yard course, but the par 3's and par 5's were shorter, keeping the overall distance under 6300 yards.  The meat of the course are the par 4's that are over 400 yards from the white tees, especially when the wind was into you.

There were only 3 players that hit or exceeded their Points Quotas, with Kingpin Tony Ambrose pretty much lapping the field with a +7 score.  Newcomer Chad Peace also played well, with a +4 score and 2 birdies that were cut by other players who scored birdies on the same holes.

We had several new players this month, including 2 originally from the United Kingdom and a new female player who plays in another group as well.  Brand new players were Amy Fields, Brian Bartley, Jimmy Nichols, Mark Underhill, Jason Brock and Donald Jensen.  We also had 4 players who had played in our previous group finally able to play this month.  John Lamberg, Mario Faria, Fausto Diaz and Chad Peace all made this month's Gaspar.  We really appreciate all our new guys and girls, and for us to get Gaspar Golf where we want it to be, with 72+ golfers in all the Gaspar Invitationals, we can't do it without all our players inviting new people to join us.

We had a drawing for a few prizes, and everyone who didn't win a prize received a Chick fil a free sandwich card.  We gave away a free twosome to Bardmoor.  We also gave away a couple sleeves of Titleist Tour Soft balls, a 6-pack of Cigar City Jai Alai IPA, a free oil change at Lightning Auto Repair on Gandy in south Tampa, a $500 discount shopping card and a $100 restaurant dining card.  We are looking for sponsors for prizes to all our events, so if any of our players know a business who can help, please let us know!

No one won the Sink the Putt contest, and our current pot stands at $47!
