In one of the best individual performances in Gaspar Golf history, Adam Larson fired a 2-over-par 74, with 34-1/2 points, to shatter his Quota of 24 with a +10-1/2 finish. Larson last won a year and one month ago in the February 2022 event, so he joins the small group of players who have won 2 times on the Pirate Tour. Bill "Big Pole" Kilichowski, usually an emotional wreck on the golf course, kept it all together as he shot the lowest round of his career to win the 2023 Pirate Invasion at Skyview Golf & Country Club. When my group looked at the Live Leaderboard with Kilichowski at 71 shots and having 2 holes to play, we were incredulous. Bill could actually shoot in the 70s, with a single round of 89 ever? I remarked that it would be like me shooting in the mid-60s, which is abso ...

Frank "Former Playboy" Perez, aka the "Green Eyed Bandit," won the 2nd event of the 2022-2023 Gaspar Cup Season, besting Ay Que Rico "Suave" Velez in a scorecard playoff. This Founding Gaspar Golf Pirate last won a Gaspar Invitational in our second-ever event in August 2019. Frank shot an 82 on a beautiful day at Lake Jovita on the North Course. He bested his 25 Quot ...

Mike earned $296 for 1st place, and the title of Jose Gaspar for the final event of the season. He also made a b ...

On the strength of a birdie and an eagle, Manuel Villar flew on pirate wings as he shot an 88 to win the 2022 Summer Slam at Countryside Country Club. The day was beautiful, and not as steamy as it has been of late, and the course conditions at the private course in Clearwater were great. The greens on Bayhead appeared to have been recently verti-cut, and the greens on Lake were equally slow, but they all rolled pretty evenly. The players even had their own room in the dining ar ...
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, and Anne "Bones" Rhodes has her fair share of close calls in past Gaspar events. This time, she was not to be denied, as she came out on top by 1/2 point over Mike Hauch.| Gaspar Challenges | |
